When Did You Get So Old and Boring?

Maybe you aren’t tired or depressed—you are just bored.

Remember those days? You were leaving home for the first time, full of confusion and fear and wonder. The world was your oyster, and you were going to take it by sword.

Those times when you stayed out all night with friends, passing out on one another's floors, then rallying and showing up for school or work a few hours later?

There was a time when you were fun--before life beat the shite out of you.

Ya, I get it. These days you have a lot on your mind. And you have to be in your armchair by 7:00 pm to watch your favorite show.

And it would be best if you got a good night's sleep so you can follow your "morning routine" and be at peak performance all day.

If you are happy, by all means, carry on.

But if you aren't, ask yourself:

What happened to you? To your life? To that sense of humor that you once had?

When did checklists and Zoom meetings replace sharing jokes with your co-workers?

When was the last time you felt inspired to do anything?

When did you get so old, and boring?

Somebody...give me an employee or a friend who is funny.

  • I want to have a laugh about how bad my eyebrows look.

  • Make light of the situation or take the piss out of someone else.

  • Wake up and kick that problem in the ass because I have a brilliant idea to solve it.

  • I want to make mistakes because I'm trying something new. Fail and learn. Lead, not follow.

Maybe you aren't tired or depressed--you are just bored.

And maybe no one is going to fix it but you.

What are you going to do about it?

Need a jump-start. Coach with me. We’ll get you going.
