In Praise of Beautiful Men

I am a better woman because of these men:

My five sons who would wrestle a lion to the ground for their wives, sisters, children and their mother.

The bosses who made sure I left a better person than when I was hired.

Powerful leaders who commanded my respect because of their service.

Fathers who hold their little boy’s hands and whisper in their ears how much they are loved.

Brothers who teach their young siblings how to fight and how to dream.

Men from Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan who have messaged me about their secret efforts to make their community a better place for women.

Soldiers who have fought for my peace.

My husband who holds my heart in his hands like a treasure.

And so many others.

I am a better woman because of these men. Who are the beautiful men you’ve known who are worthy of praise?
