Business:

Designing everything:

Canva: I was one of the earliest adopters of the amazing, AMAZING design service. I use Canva for all of my social media posts. Whether you are an inspiring influencer, a major company employee, or a grandma wanting to create family treasures, this free service has IT ALL. As soon as I realize there is something I need, I see they’ve added it. I am Canva’s #1 fan. We’ve even created posters, tee-shirts, and family books with this app. https://www.canva.com/join/nqs-pzf-tyw

Website:

I use Squarespace and do it all myself. There are others: WordPress, most notably. However, I personally have found this option to require outside coding/development sometimes. I love Squarespace as a creative. It’s fun and easy to use, and the templates make it easy. If you run into a “how do I do this?”, I recommend you google the question and see what others are doing!

Scheduling:

As someone who gets lost in the flow of creating and finds scheduling a complete annoyance, I recommend using an Acuity scheduler online for your client (and other) calls. https://help.acuityscheduling.com/hc/en-us/articles/218724768-Join-our-affiliate-program

Social Media:

Loomly:

Lord, this is a big one. Let’s start with scheduling. I typically use my phone directly to post on Instagram. But Loomly makes it easy to take one post and spread it across all your platforms. I chose this solution because of its ease across Facebook, IG, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It can also be used for YouTube and other platforms.

RecurPost.

The algorithm for Twitter is very different than other social media platforms. Quantity reigns, as posts are shown in more real-time, rather than ranking them on engagement. One of my business goals currently is to schedule more on Twitter. Also, one amazing thing about Twitter is that you can link to other content without being penalized. So if you have another channel, such as your YouTube videos or your blog, you can highlight them here and get traffic.

iPhone Clips: This isn’t the only way to add captions to your videos, but it’s easy to use on my iPhone. The bottom line is that adding captions to our videos is important as most of us watch videos with the sound off. Research one that easily works for you if you don’t have an iPhone.

Weight loss:

Goodness knows this is a struggle for all of us. Especially with the COVID-19 we just put on, because let’s face it—what was there to do but eat? Noom is based on DBT, which is one of the best research-based therapies we all love to help us know what to DO.

Oura:

Two things that are super important that we need to feel good about:

  1. Quality Sleep

  2. Activity Level

Whether you use a FitBit or my favorite, the Oura Ring, get something that measures and gives you suggestions to improve, your sleep and your activity level. You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel, and how your productivity improves, just by checking in on these two things.

Email campaigns. I use Mailchimp. There are others, but I love the easy and fun graphics of Mailchimp, and it integrates with everything. I close second for those budget-minded, is Mailerlite, which I’ve also used, but I find their lack of integration frustrating.

Personal:

Kid chore management: Greenlight app. My kids are still young—seven-year-old twin girls and a nine-year-old. So I think the functionality of this app actually gains momentum the older they get. But they each now have their own debit card, and I can control their “income” from an app on my phone. If they want something, they now come to me asking what they can do to make more money. Win.

YouTube Premium. It took me about three years to finally pay the nominal monthly fee to get this service. But now I can listen to music and see endless tutorials, and my kids can watch their influencers, with no ad interruptions.

Walmart Grocery. I know from living in Portland that most people do not have access to a Super Walmart. Highly recommend grocery pickup however you can get it. But Walmart is the best: I can order anything from a garden hose to lipgloss online and pick it up without ever having to leave my car. Walmart is brutal on their suppliers—they demand the lowest price and highest quality in exchange for their high volume selling advantage, and I know they’ve had some push back in the past for not honoring good trade practices, so keep an eye on that.

Bubbly water. My daughter Liz and I love our beverages. This is one of my favorite no calories drinks. My younger kids love them, too. They feel like they are having a treat other than water, with it being all good for them.
